“Outdoor Adventure/Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day “ in Queens

(Queens, NY) Trips for Kids Metro New York and Bicycle Habitat will host their 2nd
Outdoor Adventure Day on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Cunningham Park in Queens.

This free event offers a day of mountain biking for families; the event will include
instruction on bike safety and how to get the most out of biking experiences of all kinds.
Guided rides will be offered from 10 AM until 1:30 PM with the last ride ending at 3 PM.
This annual event is a feature of IMBA’s (International Mountain Biking Association)
“Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day”. Its goal is to boost awareness of the
opportunities for mountain biking in New York City, in addition to promoting the many
benefits that come with the sport. Last years event had more than 200 kids, teens, and
adults, enjoying the trails in Cunningham Park.

TREK Bicycles, supporters of TFK Metro NY, will be showcasing their 2014 fleet at the

Lara Lebeiko, Manager of Bicycle Habitat, one of the oldest bike shops in New York
shares, "We believe that getting more people on bikes more often benefit our
health, our environment, and our quality of life. We teamed with Trips for Kids to
create this event to help the community take advantage of off-road cycling
available in our boroughs. Hundreds of New Yorkers will come out to discover and
agree: Mountain biking is accessible and fun."

“Trips for Kids Metro New York (TFK) loves that with this event we give the kids a
gift – a unique gift – mountain biking in New York City, ” said Andrée Sanders,
Executive Director of TFK.

Trips for Kids Metro New York is a non-profit, and all-volunteer, organization that
provides mountain bike outings and environmental education for kids who would
not otherwise have these opportunities. Through the simple act of having fun, Trips
for Kids Metro New York teaches lessons in personal responsibility, achievement and
environmental awareness, enabling kids to recognize and realize their full potential.
